Producer's licence with direct sales endorsement
Allows a wine, beer, cider, or spirits producer to sell own product direct to the public at markets and events. In Victoria apply through VCGLR. Licence type varies by product — winery, brewery, distillery licences differ.
Market organiser approval
Market organiser must explicitly approve alcohol sales — check before booking.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
Mandatory for all staff serving or selling alcohol. Must be current.
Age verification compliance
Must not sell to persons under 18. Must request ID if age in doubt. Mandatory signage required.
Public Liability Insurance
Product Liability Insurance
For own-produced product — covers harm caused by the product itself.
Accurate labelling compliance
All products must comply with Australian Food Standards labelling requirements — alcohol content, standard drinks, and pregnancy health warnings mandatory.
Standard drinks labelling
Mandatory on all alcohol products — number of standard drinks must be displayed on every bottle and can.
