My notes:
Packaged liquor licence
Mandatory — must hold a valid packaged liquor licence to sell sealed alcohol for off-premises consumption. In Victoria apply through the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR). Apply well in advance.
Market organiser approval
Market organiser must explicitly approve alcohol sales at the stall — check before booking. Not all markets permit alcohol retail.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
Strongly recommended for all staff — mandatory in some states. Must be current.
Age verification compliance
Must not sell to persons under 18. Must request ID if age in doubt. Mandatory signage must be displayed at all times.
Public Liability Insurance
Accurate labelling compliance
All products must be correctly labelled with alcohol content and standard drinks — standard industry requirements.
My notes:
Market stall fee
Fuel — travel
Liquor licence fees
Annual — factor into overall business cost structure.
